Happy Solstice
Tim made us a sun for the window from this book.

Piper drew me this beautiful picture because she knows I love dolphins. She’s back in art class. Check out the shading in the sunset and the shadowing under the dolphin.

So what's with this 350 anyway?

Oh, happy day! The Christmas packages just walked out the door with Tim. It’s always a relief when they’re on their way. They tend to be made up of lots of bits and pieces so they can be a bit of a challenge to pull together.
Piper and I made the gingerbread house yesterday. Since we don’t eat it anyway I bought all kinds of nasty tasting, but colorful candy for decorations. Piper is very pleased with this year’s effort. There is even a snow horse on the side. It’s made of white gumdrops with a yellow jujubee nose.
Hard to believe that something so beautiful can be so destructive. We were some of the lucky ones; only 48 hours without power so the house never got below 53. Oh, and the tree missed… by inches.
A very strange day today. It started off with remembered dreams, the first of which involving Martha Stewart and the other Super Monkey. Martha was first, I dreamed that she was walking around our house and passing judgment. Saying things like sarcasm “Oh, that’s nice”, or “You need to de-clutter over there”, and sarcasm “Charming…” I’m not sure what insight that may give to my subconscious but it was very annoying. The second dream was more straight forward. Piper and I have been playing a game over at ninjakiwi.com where you strategically place monkeys with various fiendish implements to pop balloons that travel along a fixed path. I dreamed that I was a Super Monkey who was throwing darts like crazy at balloons that represented all the things I have to do at work. I don’t think you need to have a PhD in Psychology to figure that one out. Thought it is good to see that the old self esteem is still in fine shape. To quote an old college friend – “That’s what I love most about myself; that I’m not vain.” (ed. note: narcissistic just doesn’t flow as nicely and they are extremely close definitions).
And finally, there was some cosmic alignment with the radio stations today. At one point, two of the stations I listen to were simultaneously playing the exact same song separated in time by 15 seconds (Red Hot Chili Peppers “Snow”). Then I when I got back in the car to go home, the exact same song that was playing when I shut off the car (Coldplay – Lost) was playing when I turned on the car… in the same spot. It was like I had a CD on. Connections? Snow <=> Hot, Cold <=> Snow, Hot ,=> Cold, Lost + Cold + Snow.
So what does this all mean. Could it all really be a glitch in the Matrix? Hmmm… I do work with a guy named Anderson. Beyond a shadow of a doubt we can state one fact: Boston alternative radio needs to vary their playlists a tad.
