So what's with this 350 anyway?

Olympics

Yeah! The Winter Olympics are here. In honor of the event, we’ve decided to do a unit study on the Olympics for the next 2 weeks. Piper and I made an Olympic flag on Friday:

Tim made a medals chart (Piper and I did the flags):

Piper’s seems to be enjoying herself. Favorite event so far… Women’s Freestyle. I’m told Pairs Skating is boring. “They all do the same thing.” Pairs Skating on fast-forward is something else entirely.

A side benefit is that Tim is definitely on board for Italy in our future. Torino is gorgeous.

I didn’t like the opening ceremony quite as well as Athens, but I loved the female /activist element. What awesome women to carry the Olympic flag and the last 2 torch bearers were women. Boy, things have come a long way. Women weren’t even allowed to compete until 1912. (Notice that nice demonstration of knowledge gained from Piper’s unit study?) Peter Gabriel was also a nice surprise. Could have skipped Yoko Ono though. Yikes!
