So what's with this 350 anyway?

Art Class

Piper spent the last four days in an art class from 9-12 at the studio where she normally takes lessons. The longer time frame allows the kids to work on projects that just couldn’t be completed in an hour long class.

Tim is making good progress on the chicken coop, but as suspected it’s taking a ton of time. There have been a few design issues along the way, but it’s probably best we not talk about those.

Chicken Perch

Yesterday after dinner, I was sitting, minding my own business, and knitting with my awesome new cotton yarn. Suddenly I had company.

It started with this…

That’s Sable, probably the sweetest of the chicks. She sat up there for quite some time.

Then everyone else seemed to want to get in on the action.

Tim missed the photo of Number 2 on my head.

Chicken Report – 4 1/2 Weeks

Filed under: Updates — Lisa at 7:23 am on Wednesday, June 24, 2009

I know I’ve commented on this before, but it is truly amazing how quickly the chicks have grown. Sometimes we wake up in the morning and there are noticeable changes. They are all pretty well feathered out now and can fly for short distances. We have taken the light away and they are sleeping much better at night. Whew! Unfortunately it has been non-stop New England spring rain, so they are not spending nearly the amount of time I would like outside. As they grow the odor definitely increases, so we’ve been cleaning the cage a lot. They also delight in kicking their bedding hither and yon so I spend a delightful amount of time sweeping it up so it doesn’t get tracked all over the house. Overall though they are quite funny and sweet. Sable is especially calm and even seems to enjoy being held. Tim made wonderful progress on the chicken coop this weekend and we’re hoping that they will officially move the weekend of the 4th. Chicken Independence Day! I’m pondering possible banishment to the breezeway this weekend. Piper is still having a lot of fun and especially enjoy herding them around the yard.
